The AtoM Technical Registry is an initiative of the Access to Memory (AtoM) Foundation, a federally incorporated, community-driven, non-profit organization (Corporation No. 1075337-8) established in 2018 to oversee and sustain the development of AtoM.
As an open-source, multilingual, multi-repository platform for standards-based archival description and access, AtoM depends on a global network of institutions, developers, and contributors who share a commitment to preserving and providing access to the world’s archival heritage.
The Technical Registry serves as a central hub for this community — a place where institutions, developers, and software projects that support or extend AtoM can be documented, discovered, and connected.
Through this platform, we aim to:
- Showcase installations, implementations, and integrations of AtoM across diverse archival and memory institutions worldwide.
- Recognize developers, contributors, and partner organizations who strengthen the ecosystem through innovation, support, and collaboration.
- Provide transparent, structured metadata about AtoM-related tools, plugins, and complementary software developed by the community.
- Foster open collaboration by linking institutions, developers, and projects through shared standards, repositories, and collective knowledge.
The registry is community-maintained — built by and for the AtoM community.
It supports:
- Self-registration by institutions and developers
- Automated updates through open APIs
- Usage metrics and community activity insights
- Cross-linked records connecting people, institutions, and software components
Our goal is to make the AtoM ecosystem more visible, accessible, and sustainable — strengthening collaboration between archival institutions, developers, and the broader digital preservation community.
